Clear Channel Radio-Eau Claire has an opening for a radio advertising sales Account Executive. Clear Channel Radio-Eau Claire owns and operates Moose Country 106.7 (WATQ-FM), SportsRadio AM 1400 (WBIZ-AM), Z100 (WBIZ-FM), The Mix 98.1 (WISM-FM), News/Talk AM 880 (WMEQ-AM), Classic Rock 92.1 (WMEQ-FM), Hot Country B95 (WQRB-FM). This is a 100% commission based position. Successful 1st year sellers can earn anywhere from $25,000 to $35,000 depending on their skills and work ethic. Additionally, the candidate who is hired for this position will sell successful on air and on line advertising campaigns for all of these stations to local business and to advertising agencies representing area businesses. This is an out of the office, face to face, toe to toe advertising sales positions. Cubicle dwellers and telemarketers need not apply. The successful candidate must be able to handle rejection as nearly 80% of the accounts we call on end up in a ‘no.’ You must be able to make at least 20 cold calls per week. This position is not for someone who cannot handle rejection because we get plenty of it on a day to day basis. It is a position for someone who hates to lose, loves to conquer a challenge and enjoys the financial rewards your sales, relationship building and trustworthy personality builds. Candidate must have sales skills which they are willing to improve via training and regular coaching with their immediate supervisor. Successful candidates draw the line between friend and business relationship when it comes to working with prospects and clients. Successful candidates must not be afraid to present five and six figure marketing campaigns and to raise advertising rates as needed. Additionally, the successful candidate will have outstanding negotiation skills, will achieve revenue and share goals, will sell event and mobile marketing programs to clients, will understand and sell internet programs to clients and develop new advertisers by soliciting area businesses. College education preferred. Sales experience is important and ideally with an intangible product. Excellent marketing/presentation skills are a must as well as strong organizational skills. Must be able to use a computer and learn new software programs important to your sales efforts. Minimal work hours are Monday-Friday 7:45am-5pm with the requirement of staffing sales related events in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates with a tendency to be late for work need not apply.
